A booklet is a small book. It has a particular layout, and is printed on both side so that when folded it reads left to right, front to back. By printing both sides and folding in the center you can fit 4 pages on a single piece of paper. Just be sure your font is big enough to still be legible. So you print this layout:

It's just two pages per sheet in portait mode. If your printer supports double sided printing then you don't need to use this utility for two column layouts. In the print options just select portait mode and double sided printing, two pages per sheet. The problem is trying to do this double sided with a printer that doesn't support double sided printing. This utility is designed to allow you to print double sided with a simple single-sided printer.

Read these instructions carefully. To help with double sided printing for printers that don't have this feature, this utility will split the job into a front print and a back print. Depending on how your printer feeds the paper through you may have to flip the entire stack over.

If your printer feeds the paper though like this you don't need to flip the stack over, just feed them back in:



But if it feeds the pages something like this then you need to flip the pages over yourself:
If your printer supports double-sided printing you don't need to worry about feeding the paper back in.

You should print a sample page to make sure everything is working as expected.
